About Me

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.” — Mark Twain.

The travel bug perhaps bit me a during the last phase of my student life, on a vacation to the Andaman Islands along with my parents. This was not the first trip, I had been to a lot many places before that, but never had a place so much engulfed me earlier. But I hit the road, with gusto, only after my graduation in 2012 and since then there has been no looking back.

Yet, I started writing this blog only about a couple of years back. I was happy putting up the photographs on my Facebook profile as it was (and still is) my first. I used to narrate my experiences to a bunch of close friends. It was one them who pushed me to write concrete travelogues. Even when I started blogging, I never hoped that anybody would read them. And so my story continues… I have been traveling across India and love to end up in quirky and offbeat places. I have backpacked the frozen wilderness of Sikkim, been to borders between India and Bangladesh, camped in bear infested forests of Barsey, traveled in overstuffed Jeeps on rickety roads and slept on floors of trains.

When I am not traveling or writing, I spend hours in my cubicle working for a corporate in the IT Industry. But my heart clearly lies in the world outside, not bound by deadlines and conferences. My ultimate goal is to get slower in life so that I can absorb and appreciate the beauty out there. My ultimate aim would be to quit the corporate job I have and make a living out the experiences I have gathered on my travels, encouraging people to get out of their couch and hit the road. All these varied experiences over the years have only left me more humbled. It has given me a new perspective to look at life. With every travel, I come back asking for more and every 2-3 months I ensure to travel to a new place and see the world around us.

The dream is to see, The World awaits…
